I am an Amazon shopping addict and I get super excited for the Amazon Prime Deal Days. I love a good deal (comes from being a teacher and living on a teacher’s salary), especially when it comes to shopping for gifts.
My anniversary with my fiance and my future father-in-law’s birthday are both coming up at the end of October. I had an idea of what I was going to get my fiance (even though we agreed no gifts), but I had no clue what to get my future father-in-law. My fiance, his son, was not a huge help (sorry hunny, it’s the truth). So I loved that I could go onto Amazon, type into the Prime Day Deals search bar things that I knew my future father-in-law (FIL) enjoys (like “golf” and “dachshunds”), and find items that were on sale that he might be interested in.
I started with dachshunds because he loves my mini dachshund, Sophie. (I also lowkey was shopping for myself.) After searching through a bunch of dachshund themed items, I decided it would be better to search through the golf related items. I saw different golf balls, clubs, range finder, tees, and so much more. But I finally stumbled across this Golf Trunk Organizer.
I thought that this could be perfect for him as he is always so organized, clean, and always ready to head to the golf course or range. This organizer is waterproof, has separate compartments for 2 pairs of shoes, can hold all the golf accessories like balls and tees, and whatever else he needs for golf (you can tell I know very little about this sport haha!)
For My Fiance
My fiance and I have our anniversary on October 24th and my birthday is on October 30th. For this reason (and the fact he is not working as he is a full time student), we kind of agreed not to get each other anniversary gifts. I decided to get the following items because I wanted to and have no expectation of him reciprocating with any gifts.
For my fiance, I bought him two things. The first is some boxers because he needed some and I’ll leave it at that.
These boxers had good reviews and were said to be comfortable. My fiance loves to sleep in loose, flowy boxers. He received the boxers the following week and he said that he loved them. He felt that it was breezier and more comfortable than the cotton boxers he normally wears. I guess this means I no longer have to see those old boxers anymore!
The second item is this pack of silicone rings. Because we are getting married in three years, I have been asking him things like what kind of wedding band he wants. He originally said that he wanted a silicone band so that he could wear it golfing, to workout, and to the office without any issues. I told him that he should get an official ring for our wedding and he said okay. Since I know that he still has a silicone band on his mind, I decided to get him this set as his anniversary gift and so that he could have something on his finger to show that he is taken (long distance struggles). He can wear them from now until we get married and he can still have these as an option after we get married too. I liked this set because they came in colors he often wears (dark blue, black, and grey) and they are advertised to be durable and breathable which are things I know are important to my fiance. Since my fiance is a future dentist, I was a little concerned about the little grooves getting all gross and just a breeding ground for bacteria. However, after looking at the rings up close and in person, I strongly believe that it will be hard for the rings to get that nasty and my fiance should have no problem keeping the rings clean. They are also super inexpensive so we could always buy new ones if they do get gross.
I was very practical with my gifts this year which is surprising as I often tend to lean more towards sentimental and personal gifts. My advice to anyone who stresses over gift giving for their in laws or significant others, just buy them practical stuff and remember to get a gift receipt just in case (which I forgot to do).
